Discover SCUBA Diving program outline

We begin the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience in the classroom or on-site with a safety orientation on the direct effects of pressure while scuba diving. After the safety briefing, we will begin to teach you about the scuba diving equipment you will be using during your underwater adventure. Then it's into the Pool/Confined water for some scuba diving skills training.

There are six basic skills you will need to learn in order to begin your underwater scuba diving adventure:

1. You will learn how to breathe from a scuba regulator while underwater.

2. You will learn how to clear a scuba regulator of water while underwater.

3. You will learn how to recover a scuba regulator of water while underwater.

4. You will learn how to clear a mask of water while underwater.

5. You will learn equalization techniques for your ears and your mask.

6. You will learn how to inflate and deflate your BCD (Buoyancy Compensation Device) at the surface.

Upon successful completion of the skills it's time to go out for your two open water shallow reef dives.

Open Water Dives

During your open water dive or dives you will have the opportunity to exploring the reef under the direct supervision of your PADI scuba diving instructor. It's all about exploring and having fun.
